Brighouse Scores for Port Vale FC
The Director of Stoke-on-Trent based Brighouse Construction had his moment of sporting glory recently when he met Port Vale FC Chairman Bill Bratt to hand over the newly extended main public stand, enterprise units, corporate facilities and multi sports hall to the club.
‘Team Brighouse’ started the £1.1 million project last March. Work on the newly extended main stand was completed in August in time for the start of the new season. New corporate boxes and meeting facilities were also completed in August along with 20 enterprise units which have been created specifically for new business start-ups in the area. The full project also includes a new multi sports hall, completed in December, which is now ready and available for use by the local community, and a Sure Start Nursery which is due for completion at the end of February.
Commenting on the upgraded facilities at Vale Park, Chairman Bill Bratt said: “The provision of improved facilities at Vale Park is a real bonus, not only for our fans but also the local community. The enterprise units will assist 20 new business start ups to get off the ground which will bring much needed new employment to the area. It is an essential part of our strategy to encourage more people to use this fantastic venue – on match and non-match days. Brighouse Construction did a great job and worked under difficult and often wet conditions last summer but still delivered the project on time and on budget.”
